Sunrise in Montmartre: Before the City Wakes
Discover Montmartre in a completely different atmosphere, early in the morning, before the streets get busy with tourists. We’ll watch the sunrise over Paris from the Sacré-Cœur hill, then enjoy a relaxed walk through the charming streets of this historic neighborhood.
Along the way, we’ll explore Montmartre’s fascinating history, from its old windmills and village life to the artists and writers who made it famous. We’ll hear stories about Renoir, Van Gogh, Picasso and other colorful characters, and discover some hidden corners that even longtime Parisians may not know.
We’ll also step inside the Sacré-Cœur Basilica to experience the peaceful atmosphere of the Benedictine sisters’ morning prayers, before heading out to explore the neighborhood.
Whether you know Montmartre well or haven’t visited in a while, this is a chance to see it from a fresh perspective, enjoy its quieter side and discover a few stories you might not have heard before.
To round off our morning together, those who wish can join an optional breakfast at a charming Parisian café near the Moulin Rouge. It’s a lovely opportunity to relax over a coffee and croissant, chat and enjoy a little more time together after our walk.
